The SpeedGRIP is Pirelli's gravel-specific compound, a rubber formulation born from their experience in the World Rally Championship where the performance of speed and grip on various off-road terrain is crucial. Since gravel riding requires good speed along with on-off road capabilities, Pirelli's engineers tweaked the compound to be more energy efficient with little compromise to the grip, creating a tire that works just as well on and off road.

The Cinturato Gravel S features a casing designed by combining both top-end road and MTB technology. Since most road punctures are caused by penetration of sharp objects, while most off-road punctures are caused by sidewall cuts, the TechWALL Gravel features a cut-resistant 60tip fabric all over the tire, while still offering a supple riding feeling.
